I get it! I use to wake up, and run around all day until my head hit the pillow. While exhausted, I often didn’t sleep well, my mind would race. In the beginning I prided my self on my super-hero ability to multi-task, but soon I became an angry beast to the people that mattered most in my life.
A complete OXYMORON---STRESSED OUT YOGA TEACHER
All came to a head when my health started to suffer. I knew I needed to change. I wanted to be more aligned. I wanted out of the more is more race. I wanted my exercise to challenge me, but also need a "mental" thing that wasn't happening in my daily life.
With close to 30 years of teaching human movement (registered with Yoga Alliance as well as certified through Stott Pilates® and training in classical Pilates), I took my knowledge of Pilates & Yoga and started to walk the walk. I moved safely through proper alignment with awareness for my muscle imbalances (I’m an Anatomy Junkie); opening where I needed to open and strengthening where I needed to strengthen.
I SLOWED DOWN, I BECAME MINDFUL, I GOT STRONG, FOCUSED, ENERGIZED. It was simple.
In a matter of weeks my sleeping improved. I began looking forward to my mat. My focus was sharper. Best of all my relationships became more authentic. All through truly aligning.
Life was right.
My mission with Unbound is to create the best mat based classes around. I utilize functional movement, alignment and balance to create strong, energetic , focused classes. When you leave an Unbound classed you feel open and alert. Over time your body will change, experience greater wellness.
In my spare time, I enjoy my family. That includes my husband of 20 years Kevin, 16 year-old twins Sydney and Kendall, and my four-legged baby, Lola (you will see her often on Instagram, she knows how to chill).
In my spare time I enjoy anything design related. I can also be found with my nose in a self improvement book, or on my iPad watching exercise videos. My perfect day involves a morning yoga practice, making breakfast for my family (I make the best eggs) and relaxing with the people most important to me...family and friends.
